Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — A new charge was issued Monday against a man accused of a violent home invasion.

A grand jury indicted 21-year-old Jason Brown for attempted murder.

According to police, Brown broke into a Durham home, cut the phone lines, tied up the elderly homeowner and slit his throat.

Brown turned himself in a few days later, telling police he didn't want anyone else to get the reward money for his arrest.
