DOT To Start Removing Stop Signs At I-40 Entrance Ramps

Posted Updated

DURHAM COUNTY, N.C. — A major hassle for drivers along Interstate 40 in Durham County is about to be a thing of the past.

The Department of Transportation plans to remove several stop signs set up at entrance ramps at Highway 54 and 15-501 by Friday.

The signs, which force drivers to stop before merging onto the interstate, have been blamed for delays and several crashes.

Crews placed the stop signs as part of a road-widening project.
