GARNER, N.C. — One person died and another was injured in an auto accident Tuesday night in Garner.

Authorities say Roger R. Adams, 78, of 10900 Adams Road in Raleigh, was traveling north on U.S. Highway 401 near Winterlochen Drive in Garner around 8:15 p.m. when his car crossed over into the southbound lane and collided with a gray Chevy Tahoe driven by Brandon Trump, 29 of Greensboro.

Garner police department officers found both men pinned inside their respective vehicles. Each had to be removed using emergency rescue equipment.

Trump was airlifted by helicopter to Wake Medical Center. Authorities say his injuries were not life-threatening. Adams died in the accident.
