FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrest of 37-year-old Michael Keith Lee on arson and homicide charges.
According to investigators, Veronica Ward died in a mobile home fire on Crystal Springs Drive early Sunday morning.
Investigators first questioned two men -- the home's owner, Billy Caulder, and Raymond McFayden. Witnesses said they saw both men leaving the area right after the fire started.
Lee, 37, was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder, arson and the attempted murder of McFayden.
The motive for the crime is unclear.
Lee is being held without bond in the Cumberland County Detention Facility.
