DURHAM, N.C. — Anthony Sanders hit three of Charlotte's six home runs as the Knights defeated the Durham Bulls 9-6 Monday afternoon at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Sanders homered in his first three at bats, but failed in two later chances to become the ninth player in International League history to hit four home runs in one game. The last player to hit four home runs in the IL was Toledo's Bubba Trammell in a 13-inning game in 1997. Aaron Rowand hit his first two Triple-A home runs of the year and Ross Gload also homered for the Knights.

RHP Brian Cooper (6-3) picked up the win, allowing three runs (earned) and seven hits over seven innings. He walked none and struck out three.

Ryan Jackson went 4-for-4 with a double and a home run for the Bulls. Chad Mottola and Chris Truby also homered for the Bulls, who have lost all five games with the Knights this season.

RHP Jim Magrane (0-1) took the loss in his first appearance for the Bulls this season. He lasted six and 2/3 innings, allowing eight runs (earned) and 9 hits.
