Wake Forest Votes To Build Super Wal-Mart

Posted Updated

WAKE FOREST, N.C. — Wal-Mart is coming to wake Forest. Town commissioners approved the proposal for a 24-hour super center late Tuesday night.

The store will be built near Capital Boulevard and U.S. 1A -- next to the Weavexx Plant.

For months, the town's planning board has wrestled with the decision to build the 24-hour discount giant, which would sit a couple of miles away from a Super Target.

Many merchants said they are worried about the superstore taking away downtown business.
