N.C., Alabama Congressmen Make Friendly Wager On 'American Idol' Outcome

RALEIGH, N.C. — The battle over who will be the next "American Idol" is drawing the attention of two congressmen.
North Carolina Congressman David Price and his Birmingham counterpart Spencer Bachus are willing to bet their hometown "idol" will take the crown.
If Ruben Studdard wins, they are going out for Alabama barbecue. If Clay Aiken wins, they are getting ice cream from Chapel Hill's own Maple View Farm. The dairy has created a special "Croonin' Clay's Carolina Crunch" flavor in his honor.
