<b>JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C.</b> — A logging accident took the life of a man in Johnston County Monday morning.

Ricky Simmons was helping to clear land on Lynch Road off Highway 42 between Clayton and Wilson when he was killed by a falling tree.

Simmons was working with a logging group out of Kinston.

Officials with the Occupational Safety and Hazard Administration (OSHA) are investigating the accident.
