CARTHAGE, N.C. — It took helicopters and bloodhounds to track him down. But after a two-day manhunt, Moore County deputies took a wanted man into custody.
Richard White is wanted in the state of Ohio for the murder of his pregnant girlfriend last Thursday. Moore County deputies spotted White's van outside Carthage on Saturday morning.
That's when deputies say he took off into the woods. Officers finally caught White later Saturday, when they say he came out of hiding to steal a car.
Ohio officials are on their way to Moore County to question White about his girlfriend's murder.
According to reports, White had contacts in North Carolina.
