Posted Updated

VANCE COUNTY, N.C. — A retired Vance County principal pleaded guilty to sex charges in Virginia and could face up to 10 years in prison.

Jerry Hoyle admitted to two counts of attempted solicitation of a minor.

In November, Hoyle was charged with using the Internet to set up a meeting in Virginia for sex with an underage girl. It turned out to be a policeman.

Hoyle was principal at E.O. Young Elementary school and worked for 30 years in the Vance County school system.

Sentencing is scheduled for August.
