HENDERSON, N.C. — A Henderson man who held police at bay for more than 11 hours Thursday before shooting at officials outside his home has been charged and jailed.
William Keith Tillotson, 45, was discharged from Maria Parham Hospital Sunday. He was treated for a gunshot wound to the arm.
Tillotson was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a government official regarding his firing a shotgun at a responding officer on Thursday.
Tillotson was also charged with going armed to the terror of the public, stemming from his actions that prompted the 911 call Thursday.
Tillotson is being held in the Vance County Jail under a $50,000 bond.
The Henderson Police Department and the State Bureau of Investigation continue to investigate the incident.
