Police Believe Two Fayetteville Shootings Related

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — One man is dead and another is injured after two shootings in Fayetteville Thursday night.

Police said they received a call at 9:55 p.m. and responded to a shooting on Coley Drive.

When they arrived, they found James Payton, 24, lying in the roadway.Police said Payton had been shot several times and later died.

Police found a vehicle matching a description of one seen at the Coley Drive shooting on a Pantry gas station on Pamalee Drive and Helen Street. When they arrived, they found Paul Prude, 21, had also been shot.

Prude is recovering from surgery at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. There is no word on his condition.

Police believe the shootings are related.So far no arrests have been made.
