Johnston Man Accused Of Shooting Neighbor Will Go To Trial On Different Charges

Posted Updated

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — A Johnston County man who is accused of shooting his neighbor has been released from jail.

Ronnie Lewis is charged with taking indecent liberties with a minor. Authorities arrested Lewis on those charges earlier this month after he allegedly shot Charles McCain.

Authorities say McCain tried to confront Lewis after Lewis allegedly exposed himself to McCain's son.

The district attorney says Lewis was justified in using deadly force because McCain broke down Lewis' front door.
