Fayetteville Man Charged With Rape

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — A Fayetteville man is in jail, facing sexual assault and robbery charges.

Sheriff's detectives arrested Carlos Omar Hernandez, 25, Thursday. He was charged with one count of 2nd-degree rape, one count of 1st-degree burglary and one count of 2nd-degree sex offense.

Officials said on March 29, Hernandez allegedly entered the residence of a woman he knew, forced his way into her bedroom, and physically and sexually assaulted her.

Hernandez is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.
