HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — The battle over a proposed Holly Springs landfill is history.
The North Carolina Supreme Court denied a motion preventing the construction of the South Wake Landfill. That gives Wake County the go-ahead to build the 189-acre site.
A group of concerned Holly Springs residents had joined forces to fight the landfill. That group has disbanded, calling the court's ruling the final nail in the coffin.
