Authorities Say Granville Woman Made Up Story About Assault, Fire

Posted Updated

GRANVILLE COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities say a Granville County woman who said she was attacked and her home set on fire apparently made the story up.

In October, Sherri Campbell, whose husband is a Vance County sheriff's deputy, told law officers two men broke into her home, assaulted her and set the place on fire.

Campbell was released from jail under $5,000 bond.

Her next court date is April 30.
