Two Cary Town Councilors Must Repay Campaign Money
Posted April 2, 2003
CARY, N.C. — Two members of the Cary Town Council must repay money they got for their 2001 campaigns.
A Wake Superior Court judge upheld a State Board of Elections ruling against
Julie Aberg Robison
and the town's campaign financing program.
The State Elections Board ruled Cary broke state law by giving the pair too much money. Robison got over $16,000 and Smith received almost $7,000. The limit is $4,000.
Both council members have to pay back the difference.
