Drunken Food Fight Leads To Arrests

GARNER, N.C. — Garner police made two arrests after being called to break up a food fight at a local grocery store between friends who allegedly were under the influence of alcohol.

According to police, one of the offenders said he wanted to buy more alcohol and leave. When officers told the man he couldn't buy more alcohol and was being investigated for damaging store property, the man became upset and started toward an officer in an aggressive manner.

Alvin Lee Cooper of Raleigh was taken into custody and charged with damage to property and resisting arrest. He was taken to Wake County Jail.

The other offender, identified by police as Gerald Marks of Raleigh, was charged with damage to property and possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was given a citation and a court date and released.
