WILSON, N.C. — Wilson police have arrested a man they believe vandalized Fike High School earlier this month.

Joshua Near, 21, is charged with breaking and entering and defacing a public building.

Police said Near broke into the school March 9. School surveillance video shows the suspect smashing glass cases with a fire extinguisher.

Damage is estimated at $5,600.

Police believe Near is responsible for a string of break-ins in Wilson.
