FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are searching for the person who shot and killed a man, leaving him to die in the middle of a city street.
Around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, police found 31-year-old Christoph Jackson in the middle of Collins Street in the Bonnie Doone area. Authorities say Jackson lived one street away.
Police say it appears he was shot with a high-powered rifle. Jackson died several hours after police found him.
