SMITHFIELD, N.C. — Johnston County residents who appealed their new property values will soon find out how they fared. The county tax office plans to mail the first batch of notices Monday.
After the recent revaluation, 12,000 landowners appealed the new property values.
The county tax administrator said some landowners will see a decrease in their values while others will see an increase. It could take 60 days for all notices to go out.
