DURHAM, N.C. — A man accused of kidnapping his ex-wife then leading police on a high-speed chase has been ordered to stay away from her.
A judge made the ruling during a court appearance Thursday as Vadell Carpenter sat quietly in the courtroom.
Carpenter faces charges in a police chase that started in Durham Wednesday and ended Apex.
One officer crashed into a ditch to avoid an oncoming truck. He is OK.
Carpenter remains in jail on $50,000 bond.
