DURHAM, N.C. — The Durham Public School System has been bailing Hillside High School out of budget woes for two years.
In 2001, district administrators paid off nearly $29,000 in bills.
The next year, Hillside tallied up an even bigger shortfall of more than $37,000.
The school is already investigating parent organizations that cannot account for thousands of dollars.
