Wake Delays School Drug Testing

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Wake County school system has delayed plans to test students for illegal drugs.

A Maryland company is offering drug detection kits to several states as part of a pilot program. The tests would be used only when a student is suspected of drug use.

Some civil rights activists are concerned about violating constitutional rights. The proposal will be delayed until the next school year.
