DURHAM, N.C. — Durham Police Officer Jerome Crews was arrested Monday and charged with assault on a female. He was released on a $1,000 unsecured bond, accordign tot he Durham Polcie Department.
Crews was charged in connection with an incident that was reported on Jan. 19. The Durham Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division and Professional Standards Division are investigating the case.
Crews, 31, joined the Durham Police Department on May 12, 1997 and is assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division. He has been on administrative duty with pay since the incident was reported and his status has not changed.
