DOT Closes Section Of Fayetteville's Person Street

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A section of a popular road that leads to downtown Fayetteville is off limits to traffic.

The Department of Transportation has closed the Person Street bridges over Lock's Creek and Cape Fear River.

Many motorists did not know about the road closure; however, detour signs are posted.

The DOT is getting ready to replace the bridges with larger ones. The Person Street bridges are scheduled to open in October 2004.
