Wallace was sent to the back of the pack for Sunday's race. His crew chief also was fined $10,000.
The carburetor did not meet the minimum size requirements when it was inspected after Wallace's fourth-place finish in Thursday's qualifying race.
Wallace has to use a provisional to get into the race. He will drop from eighth to 38th in the starting field of the 43-car race.
He was also stripped of the $28,720 in prize money from Thursday's race.
NASCAR did not dock any points from Wallace. Because the season hasn't started, he doesn't even have any points.
That's a break from the pattern NASCAR began last season of docking 25 points in the penalty process.
