RALEIGH, N.C. — An outbreak of a health bug is emptying classrooms and filling up doctors' offices.
Forty-two students were absent from the Franciscan School in Raleigh Wednesday compared to 14 on an average day. That number shot up to 70 one day last week.
The principal even had the entire school disinfected.
Other Wake County campuses are reporting high absences.
Doctors warn the bugs may last through the end of the month.
