Durham Police Release Composite Of Suspect In Assault, Attempted Robbery

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police investigators have released a composite drawing of a suspect in a January 25 assault and attempted robbery at Wellington Place Apartments on Garrett Road.
According to police, the victim was using a telephone in the parking lot when a man approached him around 7:30 p.m., showed a handgun and demanded the victim's wallet.
As the victim reached for his wallet, police said, the suspect hit him under his right eye and on the side of his head with a handgun. The suspect then ran from the area.
The suspect is described as an African-American male, 28 to 33 years old, standing 5-11 to 6-feet tall, weighing 215 to 220 pounds. He has short hair.
The suspect was last seen wearing a white sweatshirt and blue jeans.
