HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities in Lee and Harnett counties think there could be a connection between a recent robbery and attempted robbery.
A Winn-Dixie store manager in Sanford said another car forced him to the side of the road on his way home in Harnett County. Four men reportedly kidnapped him and forced him to open the safe at the store.
After that, authorities said a vehicle flashing a blue light pulled over a car carrying two other grocery store managers in Harnett County. Authorities said a man with a gun demanded to get inside their car, but the men were able to drive away .
Sheriff Larry Rollins said drivers should not be fooled by fake blue lights. He said it is not against the law to drive slowly to a well-lit area if you are not sure the blue lights behind you are real.
