One Killed In Fayetteville Wreck

No charges have been filed in a deadly wreck in Fayetteville Sunday night.

Fayetteville police said the two-car wreck happened around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Cliffdale Road and McPherson Church Road.

According to reports, a Ford Explorer driven by Ross Salwalke Jr., 17, collided with a 1986 Nissan truck driven by Jeremy Tart, 22. Renee Greer, 17, a passenger in the Nissan was killed; Tart was injured.

Salwalke, who has a provisional license, was accompanied by a supervising adult, identified as Gregory Buie, 32, and another passenger, according to police.

Investigators said Salwalke was at fault in the wreck.

Police said the Nissan was traveling south on N. McPherson Church Rd., toward Raeford Rd. The Explorer was traveling north on McPherson Church Rd. and turned left in front of the Nissan.

All involved in the accident were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Investigators said they are awaiting chemical analysis results before filing charges related to the death.
