A Wilson teenager charged with murder gets his first day in court Monday.

Police say 17-year-old Antonio Daughtridge shot and killed Antonio Barnes after an argument Wednesday night. According to police, Daughtridge had been staying with the victim in the house where police found Barnes' body.

Daughtridge was arrested for the murder over the weekend.

Investigators said Daughtridge had been arrested a few weeks ago on drug charges and was out on bond at the time of the murder.

Officers were called to 901 Washington Street in reference to a shooting shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday. Officers said that when they arrived at the scene, they saw that Barnes, who was unresponsive, had been shot several times.

The medical examiner was called to the scene and pronounced Barnes dead.
