DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police investigators have arrested 25-year Miguel Cruz Rosales on charges that he sexually assaulted and raped a 12-year-old girl on three occasions in 2002.
Rosales has been in the Durham County jail on $1 million bond since his arrest on Jan. 8. He is charged with four counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor, three counts of breaking and entering, three counts of kidnapping and six counts of forcible rape.
Police believe he broke into the victim's apartment and sexually assaulted her.
Investigators said Rosales allegedly threatened to harm the victim and her family members if she told anyone what happened.
Investigators have not determined if there are other victims, but the investigation is continuing.
Anyone with information is asked to call investigator J.D. Zummo at 560-4440, ext. 243, or CrimeStoppers at 683-1200. CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases.
