RALEIGH, N.C. — According to Raleigh police, 21-year-old John Edward Burt has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill after he allegedly stabbed another man multiple times early Saturday morning.
Burt was taken to the Wake County jail, where he is still being held under $1 million bail.
The victim, identified as 21-year-old Christopher Alston, was stabbed several times with a 3-inch knife while visiting Burt.
Burt and Alston reportedly are first cousins. The stabbing stemmed from an earlier argument.
Alston was stabbed four times, one time in the neck.
