State Appeals Court Clears Way For Wake Landfill

Posted Updated

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — A North Carolina court cleared the way for a new landfill in Southern Wake County.

On Tuesday, the state Court of Appeals upheld an earlier ruling allowing the county to build a landfill in Holly Springs, but that does not necessarily mean one will be built on the 480-acre site.

The county has two years to look at other options.

The current landfill in northern Wake County is expected to fill up by 2006.
