Santa Claus was generous to 4-year-old Jackson Barlow. The problem is that Santa was generous to hundreds of others as well, which left plenty of remnants from the holidays.
"Christmas was good to Jackson and his little brother. His birthday is just two days before, so we had lots of extra boxes this year," said Jeff Barlow, Jackson's father.
Five facilities have been set up in Wake County for holiday trash recycling efforts. They are at the following locations:
"It was a great Christmas. Now, we're trying to bring what's left after Christmas is over and put it in the right place," said Betty Owen, who brought her trash to one of the locations.
Wake County residents can drop off trees, wrapping paper and even gift boxes at the locations. The county will collect all of the trash through Jan. 12, seven days a week. For more information, you can call

The guests are barely out the door, but already it is time to start thinking about the post-holiday clean up like recycling your Christmas trees.
In Raleigh, crews will start picking up Christmas trees on Saturday. Durham will start its collection Jan. 6. Officials suggest putting your tree at the curb by 7 a.m. on your normal garbage day. In Fayetteville, crews will start picking up trees along the curbs Jan. 7.
