Raleigh Council Approves Coker Development Plan

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — After three years of debate, a proposed Raleigh development gets the green light.

Raleigh City Council members approved plans Wednesday to build condominiums, stores and offices on 12 acres at Wake Avenue and Oberlin Road.

Developer Neil Coker originally wanted five-story buildings on 15 acres, but withdrew the plan after neighbors fought against it.

Some of Coker's former opponents endorsed the smaller version.
