Raleigh City Council Cracks Down On Predatory Tow Companies

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh city leaders are cracking down on tow-truck companies.
The City Council passed an ordinance Wednesday that makes it a misdemeanor to tow cars from a legal parking space.
Tow-truck drivers who violate the ordinance will get stuck with the bill plus a fine of up to $500.
The city also plans to clearly mark parking lots, so there is no question as to whether a car is parked legally.
