ORANGE COUNTY, N.C. — An Orange County Animal Shelter is up and running again after days without power due to last week's ice storm.
Generators kept a few kennels warm, but dozens were cold and dark.
Shelter officials said they lost about $6,000 in vaccines and medications.
Foster parents cared for nearly 150 animals until the electricity came back, but now the shelter hopes to find those pets permanent homes.
An adopt-a-thon will be held at the shelter this weekend.
