WILSON, N.C. — The apprehension of three suspects who led authorities on a chase in Wilson County over the weekend could help crack a rash of robbery cases.

According to a report filed by the Wilson County Sheriff's Office, a deputy pursued a Geo Prism that was clocked at 93 mph on Highway 42 on Saturday. The Prism came to a stop at one point, and the driver and front passenger jumped out and ran into the woods.

The backseat passenger, 20-year-old Erico Fernando Martinez, was arrested at the scene. The two suspects who ran were later caught.

Investigators found a pistol-grip 12 gauge shotgun and toboggans in the car.

Martinez, 20-year-old Pedro Espinoza and 24-year-old Jason Ramirez have been charged in one armed robbery. Detectives are trying to determine if the three are suspects in other hold-ups in Wilson County.
