Orange County Animal Shelter Asking For Help To Keep Pets Warm
Posted December 6, 2002
ORANGE COUNTY, N.C. — The Orange County animal shelter is experiencing emergency conditions due to the recent ice storm.
Officials said there has been no power at the shelter since Wednesday and Duke Power said it may be another three to five days until power is restored.
Officials are asking for donations of clean, new or used blankets and towels to help keep the animals warm. They are also in desperate need of foster homes to temporarily house young kittens, puppies, and two mother dogs with puppies under two weeks of age.
Officials also said there are also several elderly animals that may have problems withstanding the temperatures in the animal shelter.
The animal shelter is located at 1081 Airport Road in Chapel Hill.
