SAINT PAULS, N.C. — Fire broke out at Saint Pauls Middle School Wednesday night, destroying a storage building.

Investigators said an electrical short started the fire around 10 p.m. at the school on Highway 301 south of Fayetteville.

The building that was destroyed was about 40 feet from the school.

Fire Chief Evans Jackson said school operations should not be affected.

Jackson said the fire did not appear to be arson.
