Two Teens Arrested In Cary Vandalism Case

CARY, N.C. — Two teenagers are in the Wake County Jail, charged as accomplices in a shooting spree that damaged several Cary businesses and a school.

Brian Johnson, 17, and Jeff Smith, 19, were arrested Tuesday. Police say the teens stole several guns from a storage unit last week, then drove around tiown shooting at churches, cars, a hotel and Cary High School.

No one was hurt.

Investigators say they tied the teens to the shootings after they left a Cary restaurant without paying their bill. Officers found shell casings in their car.

The two teens face numerous charges, including breaking and entering and felony larceny.

The suspects hit Saint Paul's Episcopal Church and the Embassy Suites Hotel. They also shattered the windows at a Lutheran Church and shot out the windows of at least one car.
