HOKE COUNTY, N.C. — An inmate who escaped from a Hoke County sheriff's deputy has pleaded guilty to the charges against him.
In September, Richard Elliott attacked the deputy, stole her gun and took off as he was being transported through Wake County. Elliott led law enforcement on a four-hour chase before they caught him.
Elliott pleaded guilty to armed robbery as well as escape. He will be sentenced in January.
