FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville needs a city song, and officials have narrowed it down to two.
Thirteen songs were submitted in the contest, but only two made the cut: "My Hometown Fayetteville" and "I've Got Fayetteville on My Mind."
The idea for a city song came from Fayetteville Mayor Marshall Pitts Jr.
The City Council is expected to make its choice later this month.
