East Franklin Street Reopens After Wreck

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Police in Chapel Hill reopened East Frankin Street between Boundary Street and Park Place after a single-vehicle wreck early Friday morning.
Police said the vehicle hit a utility pole, then overturned on East Franklin Street at Boundary Street around 5:15 a.m. BellSouth phone lines were knocked down, but no service was interrupted.
One lane of traffic in each direction was closed for most of the morning. Those lanes reopened to traffic around 1 p.m.
