East Franklin Street Reopens After Wreck

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Police in Chapel Hill reopened East Frankin Street between Boundary Street and Park Place after a single-vehicle wreck early Friday morning.

Police said the vehicle hit a utility pole, then overturned on East Franklin Street at Boundary Street around 5:15 a.m. BellSouth phone lines were knocked down, but no service was interrupted.

One lane of traffic in each direction was closed for most of the morning.Those lanes reopened to traffic around 1 p.m.
