Bisexual Soldier Granted Discharge From Army

Posted Updated

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — A Fort Bragg soldier, who says he is bisexual, is now out of the Army.

Capt. David Donovan served 17 years. After realizing he was bisexual a few years ago, he tried to resign.

The Army refused, saying he had to honor his service commitment and they needed additional evidence.

Donovan's attorney said he was finally discharged under what the Army called "An Exception To Policy." Donovan must pay back tuition expenses.
