FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 13-month-old Fayetteville boy is hospitalized in guarded condition. His father, a Fort Bragg soldier, is charged with felony child abuse.

Fayetteville police were called to an apartment on Treetop Drive on a domestic dispute call.

Investigators said Specialist Amin Cobbs had locked his wife, Angela, out of the couple's apartment.

When police arrived, they said Cobbs let them in and they found Jamal Cobbs, who appeared to be having convulsions and difficulty breathing.

The toddler who was upgraded from critical condition, is being treated at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
