One Injured In Johnston County Wreck

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — One person is hospitalized after a single-vehicle wreck on Interstate 40 in Johnston County Wednesday afternoon.

The state Highway Patrol said a 1997 Honda Accord was traveling westbound near mile marker 314 when the driver lost control of the vehicle, hitting the wire guard rail and flipping the vehicle twice.

Two of the four people in the vehicle were thrown from it. A female passenger, who was in the rear right seat, is being treated WakeMed. There is no word on her condition.

Authorities said the driver and two children who were in the car were not injured.

The DOT said the wire guard rails prevented the vehicle from heading into oncoming traffic.
