Man Charged With DWI In Durham Wreck

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police said a drunk driver driving in the wrong direction caused an accident on 15-501 at Garrett Road Saturday.
Robert Sylvester Williams, 63, of Chapel Hill, faces several charges including driving while impaired and driving with a revoked license. Police said other charges are pending.
Officers said Williams drove his red Grand Prix in the wrong direction, hitting a vehicle driven by Bobby Earle Edmonds head on.
Edmonds, 70, of Bullock, is in fair condition with internal injuries and a broken hand. His wife, Judith Ann, is listed in good condition.
Williams, who is listed in good condition, is being treated for head and internal injuries.
All three people are being treated at Duke Medical Center.
